My dear friend Lisa called to say that she is engaged! I travelled to Rome, Ga for her engagement party/birthday and took these cute pops with me! Inspired by these.
These pops are funfetti cake and chocolate icing inside, with the pastel candy melt coating. I used the pearlized sprinkles and a new pair of tweezers to stick the pearls on royal icing glue. I was nervous about packing and taking them with me from San Diego. I thought all the sprinkles would fall off, and that would just be devastating. I had to take two (small) boxes with packing peanuts, but the pops survived.
I wanted to venture and try to make some teapots and other pottery inspired pops for Lisa (did you visit her website) for her birthday. But I don’t have enough practice with pops yet, so it takes me a while to get one together. Half the battle of the pop is shaping the cake ball and getting it to stay in the shape you want.
So what do you think? Fun? I should have taken a picture of the display at the party. They looked great with the silver and blue theme. I will have to see if I can’t find the finish product… but until then:

Hey! Just found this… yay! The cake pops were awesome, totally! Everyone loved them and they were such an awesome touch to the engagement party. Thank you so much for bringing them all the way from CA. You are the bomb!
